Administering Growth Hormone Therapy

Growth hormone therapy is often used to treat kids with growth hormone deficiencies, which is where their bodies don’t produce enough growth hormone to increase height normally.  Because growth hormone deficiencies are fairly common — occurring in one out of every three or four thousand children in America — a lot of people probably need to know how growth hormone therapy is administered.

Growth hormone therapy usually consists of a once-a-day shot.  The injection contains the growth hormone needed for the child to grow normally.  The injections are usually only taken until the growth plates close, which is why it’s crucial to catch the problem in time.  I used to have a friend who was only about four feet tall, because he had a growth hormone deficiency before growth hormone therapy was even invented.

Adults may also wonder what vitamins make you grow taller.  Some companies do actually manufacture supplements that can help you increase your height.  Growth Flex is one of these — a supplement in pill form that contains growth hormones to help you gain height and muscle.  Of course, in an adult the growth plates are closed, so you should probably be careful with supplements like these.  Be sure to check with your doctor first to make sure they’re safe, and don’t go hog wild on them — after all, you don’t want to end up as the Jolly Green Giant, OR with health problems from making yourself grow too tall too quickly!

How to Get Kinko’s Quality in Your Home Office

Many people choose to go with a company like Kinko’s for their printing, cutting, copying, etc.  The quality is better than most home offices can get, but the key word here is most.  If you are willing to put a lot of money now into buying the proper equipment, you’ll be able to do it all from home — and actually save quite a bit of money in the long run, since you won’t be paying the Kinko’s CEO for the privilege!

If you want to have Kinkos quality in your home office, here are some things you need:

  • A high-quality printer.  The material you print needs to look as professional as possible.  Even if you are not looking for photo quality, your text will be cleaner and your graphics more professional looking if you get a really good printer as opposed to a Wal-Mart cheapie.
  • A good paper cutter.  If you have any need to cut paper, such as for booklets or brochures that you plan to print and distribute, the quality of your paper cutter is very important.  Industrial paper cutters usually have a better ability to cut a greater quantity of paper, and the lines they produce should be sharp and clean.  Electric paper cutters are also handy for saving time and labor!
  • A business card cutter.  Professional business cards are a must-have for any business, big or small.  When you hand your business card to someone, you want it to really impress them.  Business card cutters are perfect for getting a professional edge on your business cards.

If you think about it, there is only one thing that makes places like Kinko’s turn out better-looking stuff than what you can print at home: superior machinery.  If you have the same machinery, you can produce the same level of professionalism from your home office.

With Nadal Hurt, Federer Hopes to Come Out on Top in French Open Tennis Tournament Results

The French Open tennis tournament results might very well read differently than expected this year because the defending champion has just been beat by fellow Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero. Ferrero is no stranger to clay, as he is the 2003 French Open winner. But he is ranked 23 and Nadal has been ranked number two for a record-holding 144 weeks. All tennis news sources point to the great athleticism of both men.

This is a very important loss because Nadal wants to defend his title and win the French Open 2008 for a fourth straight time. He rarely loses on the clay court. The only other time that he lost on clay was last year to his rival Roger Federer. This opens the door for Federer who desperately wants to see himself with the trophy during the French Open ceremonies.

Nadal holds the lead in a head-to-head with Federer because most of their matches have been held on clay courts, where Nadal is known as the kind. On the grass courts, Federer has won four Wimbledon tournaments. This rivalry should unfold as the aging King of Grass looks to complete his career Grand Slam.

How Tattoos Are Like Women

I have often believed that a good tattoo was like a good woman. As long as you pick one that will not bother you when you get older, one that will not negatively affect your relationship with your bodies and one that ages well, you’ll be able to keep her with you forever.

Like my women, I try to avoid the larger tattoos. The giant skull tattoos that ride up towards the neck, with fire and snakes running through its bones all seem a little too much. I like the more attractive tattoos, like the cross tattoos, that can go on the side of your neck or the small of your back and never seem to age poorly. Or the tribal tattoos like those circles that go around your belly button. All of those are perfectly acceptable ways for me to enjoy my body more without worrying about wanting to get rid of the tattoo some time down the line.

A good woman will be there to take care of you for a long time. A good tattoo will do the same. Choose wisely, be happy with your decision and treat her right and both will bring you a lifetime of happiness.

The Art of Aerial Photography

We all know that aerial photography is the art of taking pictures from above (usually from an airplane or helicopter). However, most people don’t think of it as an art so much as they do a tool for use by various industries. It’s true that these images are often used in building and monitoring areas. However, this type of photography really can be an art.

There are three major types of art that may utilize aerial photography:

  • Film. Start paying attention to how many scenes in films and television are photographed from above as the scene unfolds below. The most basic example is when someone in a crime show or movie is thrown off of a balcony and you see them from above.
  • Commercial art. Aerial photography can create a great impact on a viewer visually. This enhances commercial art and allows for better marketing of some items. Flip through any magazine and you’ll probably notice it.
  • Creative art. Photographers who want to go one step further in their work will frequently get into photographing from multiple perspectives such as up in the air.

There is definitely a science to aerial photography (just look up "photogrammetry" and you’ll learn all about it) but there’s also an art to it and that shouldn’t be forgotten when the topic comes up.
