3 Things a Truck Accessories Store Should Offer

Your truck is important to you, so you shouldn’t get your pickup truck accessories from just anyplace.  Here are 3 things to look for in a truck accessories store.

  1. Good item descriptions.  Many people now buy their truck accessories, such as driving lights and chrome truck accessories, online.  There’s no shame in that, but you do need to be sure of what you’re getting.  Make sure the seller or store you are purchasing your accessories from offers thorough descriptions, clear pictures, and states clearly what year, make and model the item is for.
  2. Safe payment options.  With all the fears of identity theft running rampant on the Internet these days, you can no longer give out your credit card number to just anyone.  Unless the store is a large, established store, and has a physical location address (not just a Post Office box) listed, don’t give them your info!  Large stores are usually okay, and of course payment methods such as PayPal allow you to pay via magic plastic without giving out your information.
  3. A solid return policy.  In the event that you receive the wrong item, or the truck accessories for your truck don’t actually fit your truck, you should be able to return the items.  Personally, I like to purchase from stores that offer to refund shipping in the event that the problem is their fault.  You shouldn’t have to pay the shipping to return an item that they sent you by mistake, or that doesn’t fit your truck when it is supposed to!  However, in cases of buyer’s remorse, you should definitely be responsible for the shipping.

Truck accessories are supposed to be an investment, so make sure that the money you are spending is going to a good place!

State Inspections Houston Requirements

Many states require safety inspections to make sure your car won’t be a safety hazard on the road.  As a car owner, it’s your job to make sure your vehicle meets state inspections Houston requirements.

Your Houston safety inspection will test:

  • Exterior lights, such as turn signals, brake lights, and head lights
  • The darkness of your window tint (to make sure you can safely see out your windows, even at night)
  • Whether your seat belts work properly
  • The amount of tread you have left on your tires
  • Whether your breaks work properly
  • Whether your power steering system works properly

Texas state inspections also include emission tests, which check to be sure your car is running within certain standards, and not polluting the city’s air too much.  This includes testing:

  • Your exhaust system, making sure you have all the required components and there aren’t any leaks
  • Your fuel cap, making sure it seals correctly and doesn’t allow fuel vapors to leak past into the outside air
  • Your emissions, making sure that your car’s exhaust doesn’t contain too much carbon monoxide or other components that exacerbate air pollution

Depending on the results of your state inspections test, you might need to have auto repair work done to make your car meet the state’s requirements.  For example, if your brake system is malfunctioning, you may need to find a Houston brake repair shop.
