Health Insurance for Elderly People with Asthma

asthmaI have struggled with asthma my entire life. I have used albuterol inhalers, steroid pills and steroid inhalers to try to get this problem under control. I finally found an inhaler that works for me. The bad news is that it isn’t covered by my health insurance and the price of the inhaler is way out of my budget.

This makes me wonder what elderly people do when they’re dealing with asthma. As they get weaker, the asthma gets worse. If it’s not under control, it could be a really serious problem. I can’t imagine that they can afford to pay for the inhalers if I can’t since they’re retired when I’m working.

On second thought, though, maybe their health insurance is better than mine. I’ve heard that individual health insurance in Florida is good. Since there’s a high elderly population there, it would make sense to think that this is a really good place to look at when considering health insurance issues for the elderly. I’ve also heard the Medicare supplements in Florida are good so maybe that would cover inhalers that aren’t covered by insurance.

I’m curious about this issue. It’s something I’ll need to look into more!

Risks of Taking HGH Supplements

People choose to take HGH supplements for a few different reasons. They may be interested in the anti-aging properties of HGH. Or they may seek to increase performance and strength to do better in sports. Whatever the reason, anyone taking HGH should be aware of the side effects.

The good news is that the side effects of HGH are actually minimal and mostly reversible. The bad news is that of course there are HGH side effects. These side effects include:

  • Joint pain and swelling. The most common complaint among people taking HGH is a problem with the joints. Most people say this side effect is worth the benefits of taking HGH supplements.
  • Diabetes symptoms. It used to be believed that HGH caused diabetes. However, it appears instead that it causes symptoms that mimic diabetes. These symptoms appear to be reversible.
  • Excessive hair growth. One drawback of HGH is that you may grow more body hair than you’re used to.
  • Excessive bone and tissue growth. This is the most serious side effect of taking HGH. It can cause problems with your bones and change your facial features. This can be combated by taking low doses of HGH for short periods of time.

All in all these are side effects that are similar to that of other medications.

My Pregnancy Goals

pregnancyI’m not pregnant. I don’t have any plans to get pregnant any time soon. In spite of this, I have a list of goals for when I do get pregnant. These are just things that I hope that I can stick with to have a positive pregnancy experience.

Some of my pregnancy goals include:

  • Resting as often as I need to. I really have a hard time just relaxing so I’m hoping to develop this skill during pregnancy.
  • Staying appropriately active. I don’t want to rest all of the time! I’d really like to do prenatal yoga and other types of pregnancy exercise.
  • Keeping up my appearance. It’s a bit embarassing to admit it but I already own a super cute pair of maternity trousers for when I do get pregnant!
  • Maintaining the romance in my relationship. I believe that pregnancy should bring the mother and father closer together in every way.
  • Talking about things other than the pregnancy. I really hope I’m not one of those pregnant women who can talk about nothing else!
  • Reading a lot. I want to learn all that I can about pregnancy and childbirth!

I’m sure that my goals are going to change when I actually do get pregnant but those are some of the things that I’d like to see happen.

Somebody Please Cut Through the Hype

I’m looking for a good program for Weight Loss that’s proven not just for people that exercise well or who are in their 20’s or 30’s.  I really want a diet that’s tailored to my lifestyle and age that doesn’t involve a lot of cooking.  Actually, I don’t need to lose a ton.  It’s just that over time the blub and the chub slowly but surely creeps up on me.

I mean, there are all the big-name diets that I figure would work okay.  But they’re sort of one size fits all.  There are a few diets out there that are less well known, though.  The problem is, is that even diets like the NYC Diet Plan may not be well-documented enough to know for sure if they work. Weighing on Scale

I need a few testimonials from real people on the internet-not just paid people-who want to tell me if there’s a busy person who just wants to grab food that tastes good and is not too expensive and will work without a lot of exercise but not leave me hungry and will also satisfy my sweet tooth diet.  Ha  Ha!  Is the only way to get that is to hire a personal chef? Or to just down a lot of guarana over the course of the day?
