Massachusetts Inns Are A hard Habit to Break

I have a friend who often visits New England states like Massachusetts twice a year, and when she does, she prefers checking into Massachusetts Inns.

I once asked her why she was so fascinated with New England and particularly why she preferred a Vermont Bed and Breakfast over a traditional hotel.

“Look at it this way,” she replied, “visiting a really nice bed and breakfast is like having your own vacation cottage-only you don’t have to maintain it yourself.”

When she put it that way, I could see why people would gravitate towards the idyllic and scenic countrysides found in places like Massachusetts.

I think nearly every harried city inhabitant should endeavor to visit at least one New England village or town at once in their lives. How else would they know the peace that can be had in a picturesque country setting?

If they were anything like my friend, they’d also enjoy the wondrous countryside of New England. They may even endeavor to visit towns in Connecticut or Rhode Island for future vacations. The Connecticut Inns are beautiful in the fall months!

Surely, the infectious energy of New England villages coupled with the comfort and coziness of   high quality B&B’s could make anyone a habitual tourist.  Thankfully, becoming a frequent New England visitor won’t be a habit you’ll ever have to break if you don’t want to.

Arguing About Mexico Vacations

My boyfriend and I are in agreement about loving travel but we are not at all in agreement about the places that we want to visit. He is interested in the traditional European travel spots like Amsterdam and Italy and he’d be more than happy to trek all the way to Australia. I am more interested in trips to South America or to less-traveled destinations like Iceland.

One of the places that we often argue about is Mexico. I think that we should be taking mexico vacations on a regular basis since the country is so close to where we live. Trips there are easy and affordable. Heck, we can even afford all inclusive vacations to mexico that would let us see and stay in some really nice places.

As you might have guessed, my boyfriend has zero interest in Mexico. He’s scared of it because of the headlines he reads in the news. He doesn’t feel comfortable going there because he doesn’t speak Spanish. And he’s just never really had an interest in seeing the parts of the country that I think sound so fascinating. We’re learning to compromise on Iceland and Australia but for now we’re at a standstill on Mexico.

Taking a Trip Before the Divorce

A friend of mine who lives in Southern California recently went through a divorce with her husband. Before the divorce, the two of them both decided to take some time off of work and to travel together to see if they could resolve their problems.

The first thing that they did was to take a trip to Hawaii to just "get away from it all" and to see if they could enjoy spending some time together like they did in the past. They had a good time but they ultimately realized that what had once been great between them just wasn’t great anymore.

Although the trip didn’t work to resolve their issues and prevent a divorce, it did result in allowing them to agree to an amicable divorce. When they returned to Arizona, they took a second trip to the Scottsdale area. They had found a divorce mediation Scottsdale attorney who could offer an affordable divorce Scottsdale plan that worked out the details of their divorce.

During the mediation Scottsdale experience, the couple had a final great couple of weeks together. They saw some of the sights in Scottsdale together and spent time in a nice resort where they each got massages and had some leisure time. My friend says that if they end up friends in the end it will be because of the travels they shared during their divorce.

A Visit to Alberta

Last December my fiancée and I visited my older brother, who lives in Canada. He’s a computer programmer working for Bioware, a software company that has made games such as Baldur’s Gate and Jade Empire. On his recommendation, I looked into some Canada tour packages so that we could visit some of Canada’s fine cities and natural wonders. He lives in Edmonton, the capital of the Western province of Alberta. Alberta is a scintillating paradise ripe with natural resources, and Edmonton is probably the largest and nicest city you’ve never heard of. It’s the northernmost city in North America with over a million residents. After we stayed with my brother for a few days, my fiancée and got ready to head west toward the Rocky Mountains. We love skiing and there are plenty of Canadian Rockies coach tours available. My brother surprised us by coming with; despite having lived in Alberta for three years, he’d never been to the Rockies. We spent most of the skiing trip in Banff, Alberta. We got a pretty good deal on a Banff vacation package and fell in love with the town immediately. There are hiking trails that wind around majestic waterfalls, resorts located near relaxing hot springs, and of course all the skiing we could handle. I’d recommend a trip to Alberta to anyone.
