You are in school. Maybe you are almost done with your degree. However you keep thinking about changing your major. Should you do it?

Here are five signs that you should change your major:

1. You are failing all of the classes that you need for your major. Maybe you can’t handle the work after all. Maybe you just don’t like going to class. Or maybe you are sabotaging yourself. Whatever the reason, if you are failing your core classes then you might want to change majors.
2. You are bored with your core classes. Even if you are doing well in school it’s a really bad sign if you are bored in your core classes. It means you may get bored in your career. You don’t want that so change your major now and enter a new career field.
3. You are jealous of other people’s majors. If you find yourself envious of the students who are in audiology programs or online physician assistant programs then it’s a good bet that you probably want to switch your major to one of those degrees.
4. You are very curious about other majors. This shows that you might not be ready to commit to completing your degree. Learn more about other degrees before you make a decision.
5. You don’t know why you chose your major. If you never had a good reason or can’t remember what the reason was then you aren’t in the right degree program.

One of the things I love about the Internet is how versatile it is. You can do everything from Christmas shopping to reading the news. And yes, you can even do most of your wedding planning online — which was how I was able to plan an out-of-town wedding without being in the immediate vicinity.

For instance, it’s easy to find a list of venues and service providers by searching online for information on weddings in Michigan. Most businesses, including caterers and venues, have moved into the 21st century and now are quite happy to communicate with you via email so that you can work out all the details at your convenience. Even florists can send you pictures of their arrangements via email. A good wedding photographer should also have a website which showcase their best work, so that you can see for yourself a photographer’s style in order to decide whether they are the right one for your wedding.

Although things like trying out your wedding food beforehand still need to be done in person, for obvious reasons, it’s easy to research vendors and plan Michigan weddings via the Internet and email.

Even if you are having a local wedding, though, the Internet can help you out with planning, and even save you a lot of time and trouble. For instance, you can do your research for a venue and other service providers online, saving you the time of going around from place to place or meeting with people when they aren’t quite what you want. Plus, you can read reviews online and make sure others have been happy with their service!

Really, it never ceases to amaze me what you can do online!

I am not one to step away from a challenge, so when a good friend of mine challenged me to put on a charity function, I couldn’t say no.  But the truth of the matter is that I had no idea where to start or how to run one, but it couldn’t be that hard, right?

Alright, so a couple of weeks into planning, I realized one thing: it wasn’t necessarily going to be hard, but instead it was going to be a lot of work.  Not only did I have to book the venue (which has thankfully been done), but I had to come up with a theme, some charities that we are going to support and send out invites to as many people as possible.

Speaking of invites, that has been a chore in itself.  Since we didn’t have a list to go from, we have been basically sending out the invites to “cold” prospects, but we are almost done.  We just sent some invites out to Tampa criminal lawyers, doctors and optometrists.  That leaves us with less than a quarter of the phonebook left to go.

With the event in just a few weeks, I hope that we are able to raise a lot of money for charity and have a good time doing it.

New York is a city that is known for its romantic restaurants. You can choose from among the best of the best here if you want to take someone on a romantic dinner date. However, if you really want to impress your date, there are some things that you can do to make all New York romantic restaurants just a tad more romantic.

Tips for upping the ante on the romance include:

• Bring her flowers. There’s always more romance in the air when you show up to your date with a bouquet of roses.

With the current down economy, a lot of retailers are finding that consumers are differentiation much more than they  used to between necessary and unnecessary spending.

For instance, even with Halloween coming up, people are spending less on costumes and candy than they usually do.  Even families with kids deem this a luxury, and therefore unnecessary spending.  As a result, they are finding ways to cut costs.  Kids are still getting Halloween, just at a cheaper price.

On the other hand, medical expenses such as medications and equipment are one of those things people don’t skimp on — they save money in other areas to be sure they have the funds for stuff they really need.  So retailers of things like wheel chair lifts and lift chair recliners are still finding their products in demand.

If you are thinking about starting a business, this is an important distinction to make, and to use to your advantage if you can.  Businesses that provide products or services that people feel are more necessary will do better in hard times than those that are seen as more luxury types of things.  If you can find a way to take advantage of this, your business may do very well!
