Getting a job in today’s economy is tough. Imagine trying to get a job in today’s economy if you have a history of drug addiction. It’s definitely not easy. However, if you’re clean and sober now and looking for work, there are some jobs out there for you.
The best jobs that you can get are the ones which will allow you to leverage your experience with drugs into a positive thing. For example, you could work in one of the Florida drug treatment centers. People who have experience with Florida drug treatment make great Florida drug rehab counselors. And if you’re not qualified to be a counselor, you could get a job as support staff.
Alternatively, look towards jobs that require only basic skills and which don’t require too much interaction with people. It’s sad but true that employers who are hiring for people-work positions (especially positions working with kids) are really wary of those applicants who have a drug history. In contrast, jobs working with computers are good options for people with this kind of history. Build up some credibility with those jobs and then you can move into a better position as time goes on and the economy improves.

I am one of those people that read those magazines about movie stars and all their trials and tribulations. I know, it’s lame, but every once in awhile I do actually gleen some good information, though for the most part, I end up being more disgusted than anything. The newest trend is rehab. I am a strong believer in these kinds of treatments, but from the media lately, every star around goes to rehab in CA and treats it like vacation. If they truly wanted help, they should go to a Florida drug rehab center and get better, not use it as a media for their career.
In Florida drug treatment is a serious issue, not to be taken lightly. Why in the world do these stars and the media disrespect it like they do? Florida drug treatment centers address the problem and work on the individual, not glamorize the process to heighten someone’s career. I just hope those people who really do need help will seek facilities outside the limelight to truly get the help they need, not fodder for the tabloids. They deserve better, as do their loyal fans.
