Job Interview Tips for Florida Residents

How you do in your job interview is obviously very important, yet it is not uncommon for people to have weak interviewing skills. Here are a few tips to help Florida residents do well in an interview.
- Research the company. If you haven’t already done this for customizing your cover letter and resume, you absolutely need to do it before your interview. A prepared interviewee demonstrates interest in the company itself, not just the job.
- Dress to impress. You have probably heard that you should always wear a suit to an interview, yet many people still worry about being overdressed. Don’t let this fear keep you from dressing your best. You will make a better impression if you are overdressed than if you are underdressed.
- Don’t ask about salary or health benefits. Although it is understandably very important to you, salary negotiation and questions about Ft. Lauderdale health insurance are best left out of the initial interview. If you get called in for a second interview, that is a good time to ask about what Florida group health insurance is offered — and of course if you are offered the job, you have complete freedom to discuss these factors before accepting.
Doing well in a job interview theoretically shouldn’t be difficult, but many people make silly mistakes that screw it up for them, such as saying something you shouldn’t or not being prepared enough. However these are small factors that are easy to do right. Take your time to prepare for your interview — you’ll be glad you did later on!
