A Visit to Alberta

Last December my fiancée and I visited my older brother, who lives in Canada. He’s a computer programmer working for Bioware, a software company that has made games such as Baldur’s Gate and Jade Empire. On his recommendation, I looked into some Canada tour packages so that we could visit some of Canada’s fine cities and natural wonders. He lives in Edmonton, the capital of the Western province of Alberta. Alberta is a scintillating paradise ripe with natural resources, and Edmonton is probably the largest and nicest city you’ve never heard of. It’s the northernmost city in North America with over a million residents. After we stayed with my brother for a few days, my fiancée and got ready to head west toward the Rocky Mountains. We love skiing and there are plenty of Canadian Rockies coach tours available. My brother surprised us by coming with; despite having lived in Alberta for three years, he’d never been to the Rockies. We spent most of the skiing trip in Banff, Alberta. We got a pretty good deal on a Banff vacation package and fell in love with the town immediately. There are hiking trails that wind around majestic waterfalls, resorts located near relaxing hot springs, and of course all the skiing we could handle. I’d recommend a trip to Alberta to anyone.
